ORAL COMMUNICATION Mrs. D. E. Jewel <br />MRS. D. E. JEWEL DAIGLE Daigle of 1717 Woodland <br />SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS stated that she lives <br /> on one of the streets <br />described which has no sidewalks; that she believes many <br />citizens are interested in the sidewalk program; and that <br />it is very commendable because it will improve property <br />values and provide jobs. CA 29.4 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Mrs. Malone, Clerk <br />NEREIDA ISBELL of the Council, asked <br />ABC PROTEST the Council to hear <br /> Ms. Isbell because <br />o£ a misunderstanding about the time her matter would be <br />heard; Council earlier had removed Item #68 £rom the calendar; <br />Council agreed to hear her request for reconsideration of <br />protest against her Type "42" Alcoholic Beverage Control <br />License Application £or the "Body Shop", 701 E/F North <br />Harbor. <br /> <br />Councilman Yamamoto reminded Council that residents had come <br />to Council about three years ago when the "Sarong Girl" was <br />next door to complain about the behavior of customers,~ <br />stating that they were noisy, they broke bottles and generally <br />created a nuisance; and that he is against the concentration <br />of liquor licenses and would not change his vote. <br /> <br />Ms. Nereida said the "Sarong Girl" is no longer there; that <br />it is now a swimming pool store, and that she, personally, <br />does everything she can to keep the area around her place <br />clean and swept. <br /> <br />Mr. Withers, City Attorney, pointed out that the Police <br />Department did not protest the addition of wine te tko <br />existing beer license. <br /> <br />Councilman Griset expressed his view that because of tko <br />high incidence of crime on Harbor that he disapproves expand- <br />ing this particular kind of use in an already too saturated <br />area. <br /> <br />Mayor Evans moved and Councilman Garthe seconded tke motion <br />to remove the Council's protest of the Type "42" ABC Applica- <br />tion; the motion carried (5-2), with Councilmen Yamamote and <br />Griset dissenting. CA 146.1 <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT At 9:30 P.M. the <br /> Mayor adjourned the <br /> meeting to March 25, <br /> 1975 at 7:00 P.M., <br />on the motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman <br />Bricken and unanimously [7-0] carried, <br /> <br />~,~OR~NCE I.
