MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />April ?, 1975 <br /> <br />The Meeting was called to order at 8:00 A.M., in Room 831, <br />City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza, by Mayor Vernon S. Evans. <br />The Clerk of the Council reported that proper Notice had <br />been mailed and posted, with affidavits on file. The <br />following Councilmen were present: J. Ogden Markel, John <br />Garthe, Harry K. Yamamoto, Gordon Bricken, James E. Ward, <br />Lorin Griset and Mayor Vernon S. Evans. Also present were <br />City Manager Bruce C. Spragg, City Attorney James A. Withers, <br />Lynn O'Dell, representating the "Register", and Clerk of <br />the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />sonnel matters. The meeting was <br />with the same people present. <br /> <br /> Mayor Evans declared <br /> a recess at 8:05 A.M., <br /> for an Executive Ses- <br /> sion to consider per- <br />reconvened at 9:15 A.M., <br /> <br />RESIGNATION OF The resignation from <br />CITY ATTORNEY the City Attorney <br /> dated April 7, 1975, <br /> was read aloud by <br />Mayor Evans. The resignation, as stated by City Attorney <br />James A. Withers, was to be effective immediately upon its <br />presentation, and was a negotiated transaction predicated <br />on the understanding that he would receive full compensa- <br />tion at his current rate of pay up to and including May 6, <br />1975; and that all other benefits of every nature whatsoever <br />presently received would continue and would be calculated <br />through the final date of termination, May 6. <br /> <br />The resignation of James A. Withers was accepted on motion <br />of Councilman Garthe, seconded by Councilman Markel, and <br />carried on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Markel, Garthe, Evans, Bricken, Ward, Griset <br /> <br />NOES: Yamamoto <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CA 81 <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT OF <br />ACTING CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />tire immediately, with the proviso <br />tions of appointment be subject to <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney <br />Charles J.
