CITY MEMBERSHIP IN The letter from the <br />GREENBELT COMMISSION League of Women <br /> Voters of Orange <br /> County requesting <br />reconsideration of the City Council's decision of May 12, <br />1975 to withdraw from the Santa Aha River/Santiago Creek <br />Greenbelt Commission was received and filed on the motion <br />of Councilman Brandt, seconded by Councilman Bricken, and <br />carried [6-1) with Councilman Evans dissenting. Council- <br />man Ward suggested that Council policy on this matter be <br />transmitted to the League of Women Voters of Orange County. <br /> CA 145.1 <br /> <br />REQUEST TO FILE LATE CLAIM The request of Paul M. <br />PAUL M. BLAKE Blake to file a late <br /> claim of $500.00 <br /> against the City of <br />santa Aha for damages to a residence at 820 West Santa Aha <br />Boulevard was unanimously C7-0) denied on the motion of <br />Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Ward. CA 65.7 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR SIGN ON The request of the <br />WAFFLE HOUSE Santa Aha Historical <br /> Preservation Society <br /> to place (at no cost <br />to the City) a sign approximately 4' x 5' describing the <br />Waffle House restoration project was unanimously (?-0) <br />approved on the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Mayor <br />Garthe. On the motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by <br />Mayor Garthe, the Council fi~animously (7-0) suggested to the <br />Santa Aha Historical Preservation Society that they consider <br />utilizing the~symbol of the American Revolution Bicentennial <br />Committee on their sign. : CA 8S.ld <br /> <br />PETITION TO ESTABLISH PARK The letter from Don <br />ON GARFIELD STREET Tibbetts, Principal, <br /> Hoover Elementary <br /> School, and petition <br />of 107 signatures for a Park to be established on Garfield <br />Street between Sixth and Broom Streets was received and filed; <br />and staff was directed to prepare a cost analysis and imple- <br />mentation suggestions with inputs from the Board of Recrea- <br />tion and Parks, on the motion of Councilman YamamOto, seconded <br />by Councilman Ward, and unanimously (7-0) carried. CA 52 <br /> CA 1S1.S <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR SUPPORT OF By unanimous vote <br />POSITION AGAINST NUCLEAR (7-0) the Mayor was <br />SAFEGUARDS INITIATIVE directed to write <br /> letters to the Orange <br />County Cities and news media conveying the City of Santa <br />Ana's opposition to the "Nuclear Safeguards Initiative" <br />recently filed with the Secretary of State, on the motion <br />of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Ortiz.
