Acting on recommendations 7, 8, 9 and 10 (Pages 8 and 9), <br />Council directed the staff to route all administrative type <br />action correspondence as received directly to the staff <br />for action, to expand the Consent Calendar, and hold <br />Councilmen-requested exceptions from the Consent Calendar <br />until the end of the meeting; to authorize a Councilman to <br />be recorded as voting NO on a single item without requiring <br />the item to be removed from the Consent Calendar; and to <br />set a ~'time certain" for items of particular importance, or <br />of apparent great public interest, and to adhere to this <br />"time certain" schedule. The motion was made by Councilman <br />Evans, seconded by Councilman Brandt, and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Acting on recommendations 11 and 12 (Page 9), Council referred <br />to the Mayor's committee [see recommendation number 2) con- <br />sideration of the reduction of the size of Council packets <br />and the advisability of color coding for easier identification; <br />and the maintenance of backup material not included in the <br />Council packets in the City Clerk's office in easily acces- <br />sible files for Councilmen's review and use, on the unani- <br />mously approved motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Ortiz.
