UTILITY USER TAX The City Attorney was <br />ORDINANCE instructed to prepare <br /> a 5% Utility User <br /> Tax ordinance with <br />minimum and maximum exemptions, as recommended in the <br />proposed Budget, on motion of Councilman Ward, seconded <br />by Councilman Yamamoto, and carried on the following roll <br />call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Ward, Yamamoto, Bricken, Garthe, Brandt <br /> <br />NOES: Ortiz, Evans <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Prior to the motion, Councilmen Bricken and Brandt stated their <br />approval of the motion did not constitute approval of a Utility <br />User Tax at this time; and that their approval was only to keep <br />the process of the Budget in motion because of staff time needs. <br /> <br />CRIME ABATEMENT The City Manager <br />PROGRAM was instructed to <br /> strive to maintain <br /> the 110 additional <br />personnel in the Crime Abatement Program, on motion of <br />Councilman Brandt, seconded by Councilman Evans, and <br />carried on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Brandt, Evans, Ortiz, Yamamoto <br /> <br />NOES: Bricken, Garthe, Ward <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PARAMEDIC PROGRAM The City Manager was <br /> instructed to provide <br /> for the funding of <br /> the Paramedic Program <br />($402,455), through a minimum increase in the property tax <br />of approximately 104, on motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded <br />by Councilman Brandt, and carried on the following roll call <br />vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Bricken, Brandt, Garthe, Evans <br /> <br />NOES: Ortiz, Yamamoto, Ward <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />BUDGET REDUCTION The City Manager was <br /> directed to reduce the <br /> Budget expenditures by <br /> 1.S million dollars, <br />on motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Brandt, <br />and carried on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Bricken, Brandt, Ortiz, Evans <br /> <br />NOES: Yamamoto, Garthe, Ward <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />270 JULY 1, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
