DUSKIN KELLER Keller had furnished <br /> an acceptable cor- <br />porate surety bond guaranteeing the completion of street <br />improvements at 3323 West Camille Street, was received and <br />filed; and Referral Item #200 was deleted from the Council <br />Referral Summary on the motion of Councilman Evans, seconded <br />by Councilman Ward and unanimously (6-0) carried. CA <br /> <br />29.4 <br /> <br />COUNCIL REFERRAL suMMARy The Council Referral <br /> Summary dated July 14, <br /> 1975, was received and <br /> filed on the motion <br />of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Evans and unani- <br />mously (6-0) carried. CA 80.2 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Councilman Gordon Bricken <br />WAFFLE HOUSE introduced a discussion <br /> of the condition of the <br /> Waffle House by asking <br />why the Waffle House is not on its foundation or when will it <br />be. Ronald Wolford, Public Works Director, stated that the <br />estimated cost to perform the work is $21,500; that the City <br />has available $5,000 and the Historical Preservation Society <br />has $2,000, at the present time, representing a deficit of <br />$14,500. Councilman Yamamoto stated that he would like Staff <br />to write a letter to the Historical Preservation Society to <br />restate the City's position that it is their responsibility <br />to restore the Waffle House. Councilman Ward suggested that <br />the architect or interested citizens negotiate to reduce the <br />cost of putting the house on the foundation. Councilman <br />Bricken emphasized that if the house is to be ready as a <br />Bicentennial project for next year, something is going to <br />have to be done soon; and that the restoration of the Waffle <br />House is a great community project and that the City should <br />participate and encourage it. Councilman Yamamoto strongly <br />disagreed and stated that this project is the responsibility <br />of the Historical Preservation Society. CA 85.1d <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Mr. George Conley, <br />MR. GEORGE CONLEY proprietor of Toby's <br />MINOR EXCEPTION REQUIREMENT Delicatessen, asked <br /> for Council assistance <br />to expedite his ABC application for a beer and wine license, <br />pending since March.
