<br />r <br /> <br />8 <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 72-14 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPOINTING THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS THE <br />ATTORNEY FOR THE HOUSING AUTHORITY AND <br />SETTING FORTH THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE <br />ATTORNEY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of <br />Ana has found and hereby determines that there is a <br />for legal services for the Housing Authority; and <br /> <br />Santa <br />need <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter I Article III of the Housing <br />Authorities Law of the State of California (Section 34279) <br />provides that the Housing Authority may call upon the <br />chief law officer of the City to perform the legal services <br />the Housing Authority requires; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section VIII of the By-Laws of the Housing <br />Authority of the City of Santa Ana provide that the Authority <br />may from time to time employ such personnel as it deems <br />necessary to exercise its powers, duties, and functions <br />as prescribed by the Housing Authorities Law, as amended, <br />of California and other laws of the State of California <br />applicable thereto; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to delineate the powers <br />and duties of the attorney so selected by the Housing <br />Authority of the City of Santa Ana; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority <br />of the City of Santa Ana, California: <br /> <br />1) The City Attorney of the city of Santa Ana shall <br />be appointed as the attorney for the Housing Authority of <br />the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />2) That the attorney for the Housing Authority of <br />the City of Santa Ana shall: <br /> <br />a. Represent and advise the Housing Authority <br />and all Housing Authority Commissioners, officers, and <br />employees, in all matters of law pertaining to their offices; <br /> <br />b. Attend all meetings of the Housing Authority <br />and give his advice or opinion in writing whenever requested <br />to do so by the Housing Authority or by any of the Commission- <br />ers, officers, or employees of the Housing Authority; <br /> <br />c. Prepare or approve all proposed resolutions <br />for the Housing Authority, and amendments thereto; <br /> <br />d. Represent and appear for the Housing Authority <br />and any Housing Authority Commissioner, officer, or employee, <br />or former Housing Authority Commissioner, officer, or employee, <br />and any or all actions and proceedings in which the Housing <br />Authority or any such Commissioner, officer, or employee, <br />in or by reason of his official capacity, is concerned <br />or is a party; <br />
