MARATHON SOFTBALL GAME Council granted per- <br />CABRILLO PARK mission to Mr. Clark <br /> Hill, 718 Grovemont, <br /> for all night u~of <br />Cabrillo Park on August 22 for a marathon softball game on the <br />unanimously (4-0) approved motion of Councilman Ward, seconded <br />by Councilman Yamamoto. The motion further provided for a <br />waiver of park fees because the marathon is a charity fund- <br />raising and to set a record for the "Guiness Book of Records", <br />according to the information in Councilman Ward's August 4 <br />memo to Council on the matter. CA 52 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL The report of the <br />PLAZA DRIVE AND SUNFLOWER AVENUE Public Works Director <br /> dated July 21, 1975, <br /> stating that con- <br />struction of the signal requested by the South Coast Village <br />Merchants' Association at Plaza Drive and Sunflower Avenue <br />has been budgeted for 1975-76, was received and filed, and <br />Item #204 was deleted from the Council Referral Summary on <br />the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Ortiz <br />and carried (4-0) unanimously. CA 18.3 <br /> <br />PROMOTIONAL BROCHURE ON CIVIC CENTER Consideration of a <br />AND ADJACENT AREAS - Council Referral Promotional Brochure <br />Item #205 relating to the Civic <br /> Center and the Santa <br />Aha downtown areas, was continued to September 2, 1975, on <br />the motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman <br />Ortiz, and carried (4-0) unanimously. The brochure was <br />approved by the Redevelopment Commission with a recommenda- <br />tion that the $5,000 cost be shared equally by the Redevelop- <br />ment Agency and the City. Sullivan, why the City will not be able to <br />install a left turn signal at First Street and Fairview <br />Street, was received and filed, and Council Referral Item <br />#202 was deleted, on t~motion of Councilman Ward, seconded <br />by Councilman Yamamoto, and unanimously (4-0) carried.
