CA <br /> <br />77.5 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR RECONSIDERATION The request by the <br />OF 3% UTILITY USERS' TAX Greater~Santa Ana <br /> Chamber of Commerce <br /> for reconsideration <br />of the 3% Utility Users' Tax was continued to September <br />2, 1975, on the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by <br />Councilman Evans and carried (5-0) unanimously. <br /> <br />CA 65B <br /> <br />GARDEN GROVE SCHOOL DISTRICT The letter dated <br />BOUNDARY REORGANIZATION July 30, 1975, from <br /> Assemblyman Richard <br /> Robinson transmitting <br />Assembly Bill 145 for Council's information in response <br />to the Council's resolution opposing school district <br />boundary reorganization was received and filed on the <br />motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Yama- <br />moto and unanimously (5-0) carried. <br /> <br />CA 57 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR FUNDING FOR ORANGE A contribution of <br />COUNTY FAIR HOUSING COUNCIL $1,000 to the Orange <br /> County Fair Housing <br /> Council, recommended <br />by Staff in its report dated July 28, 1975, was authorized <br />in response to a request by the League of Women Voters <br />for financial support of the Council, on the motion of <br />Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto and carried <br />(4-1) with Councilman Evans dissenting. The motion further <br />directed Staff to monitor the mutual benefits of the con- <br />tribution and to delete Item #203 from the Council Referral <br />Summary. <br /> <br />Beverly Higley, representing the Fair Housing Council, <br />stated that her organization served both tenant and land- <br />lord. <br /> <br />CA <br /> <br />112.15 <br /> <br />RECESS At 3:50 p.m. Mayor <br /> Garthe declared a <br /> recess and at 3:55 p.m. <br /> the meeting reconvened <br />with the same Council members present. <br /> <br />DOG AND CAT LICENSING Consideration of the <br />COUNCIL REFERRAL ITEM #206 matter of licensing <br /> cats mandatorily, <br /> licensing cats vol- <br />untarily or licensing dogs only was tabled and Council Re- <br />ferral Item #206 was deleted on the motion of Councilman <br />Ward, seconded by Councilman Bricken and carried (4-1) with <br />Councilman Evans dissenting. <br /> <br />Prior to the motion, Art Jacques of 1525 Portola spoke in <br />favor of mandatory licensing of cats.
