Mr. Howard Way, Chairman of the Project Area Committee, stated <br />that there has been no objection in the community to the Senior <br />Citizens Housing Project. <br /> <br />Mr. Gene Jacobs, Attorney for the Redevelopment Agency, stated <br />that the developer "would be lucky to make any profit"; that <br />Santa Aha is fortunate to have the commitment from HUD; that <br />the high rise concept~is very convenient for senior citizens; <br />that it is already a matter of law that qualified persons dis- <br />placed by the project have priority admittance to senior citi- <br />zens housing, and there is no problem in adding that provision <br />to the developer's contract. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was continued to 2:00 P.M. January 5, 1976 <br />in the Council Chambers, on the motion of Councilman Evans, <br />seconded by Councilman Ortiz, and carried (7-0) unanimously. <br /> CA 157.8 <br /> <br />RECESS At 4:40 P.M. Mayor Garthe <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETING recessed the City Council <br /> meeting to.hold the <br />Redevelopment Agency Meeting; the Council meeting was reconvened <br />at 4:45 P.M. with the same.Councilmen present. <br /> <br />AGENDA ORDER By unanimous inform&l <br /> consent, Item #56, the <br /> Agenda Review Committee <br /> Report, was scheduled <br />for discussion after the balance of the afternoon calendar. <br /> <br />LOWELL PARK NAME SELECTION "Lowell Mini Nature Park" <br />"LOWELL MINI NATURE PARK" was approved as the name <br /> of the park on the west <br /> side of Lowell School as <br />selected by Lowell School children and approved by the Board <br />of Recreation and Parks on November 24, 1975, on the motion <br />of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward and carried <br />(7-0) unanimously. The report of Ron Ono, Park Department, <br />dated December 9, 1975, regarding the selection of the park name <br />and the sign design and construction was reviewed by Council <br />prior to the vote; Councilman Bricken suggested that the park <br />sign recognize the school children for having selected the name <br />of the park. Councilman Ward requested that Council have an <br />opportunity to review the sign design prior to construction. <br /> CA 52 <br /> <br />MEETING TO CONSIDER On the recommendation <br />TRASH RATE ADJUSTMENTS of the City Manager to <br /> set a special meeting <br /> time for consideration <br />of trash rate adjustments, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the <br />City Council was set for 12:00 Noon on January 5, 1976, in <br />Room 831, to consider the City Manager's Phase I report regard- <br />ing trash rate adjustments, on the motion of Councilman Evans, <br />seconded by Councilman Brandt and carried (7-0) unanimously. <br /> CA 11.4 <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT #67 The December 9, 1975, <br />MODIFICATIONS TO EL SALVADOR PARK report of the Assistant <br />RECREATION CENTER BUILDING to the City Manager <br /> regarding the Community <br />Relations activity in the E1 Salvador Park Recreation Center <br />was received and filed, and Appropriation Adjustment #67 <br />transferring $3,300 for building modifications and building <br />rental was approved, on the motion of Councilman Evans, <br />seconded by Councilman Bricken and carried (7-0) unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />524 DECEMBER 15, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
