<br />" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br />- 2- <br /> <br />May17,1976 <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />The Monthly Report for the Section 8 Program <br />(Existing Units), indicating that a total of <br />125 units of the 150 authorized by HUD were <br />under lease as of May 1, 1976, and that during <br />the month of April 20 certificates have been <br />issued. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />April 30, 1976, Trial Balance for the Section <br />8 - Housing Assistance Payments Program (HAP) <br />indicating a balance of $149,068.56. <br /> <br />On motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bricken <br />and carried unanimously (6-0) the Executive Director's staff <br />report dated May 12, 1976, regarding Staff Costs as Compared to <br />the Total Budget of Various Housing Programs, was received and <br />filed. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF SECTION 23 HOUSING <br />ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS PROGRAM ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS CONTRACT PART I <br />FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT NO. CA-093-003 (SANTA ANA TOWERS) <br />PROVIDING FOR THE INCORPORATION OF SAID PART I INTO SECTION 23 <br />ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS CONTRACT NO. SF- 492 AND PROVIDING FOR A <br />GENERAL DEPOSITARY AGREEMENT FOR FUNDS TO BE REQUISITIONED PUR- <br />SUANT TO SAID CONTRACT, was read by title only and full reading <br />was waived on the unanimously approved motion of Commissioner <br />Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bricken and carried (6-0) on the <br />following roll call vote: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-3 <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br /> <br />Ward, Bricken, Ortiz, Yamamoto, Garthe, Brandt <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Evans <br /> <br />REPORTS OF COMMITTEES <br /> <br />Nothing to report. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Nothing to report. <br /> <br />The Executive Director <br />submitted a letter he <br />had received from the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) dated May 10, <br />1976. The letter stated that there are 800 additional leased <br />units of housing available for Orange County. The Executive <br />Director pointed out the fact, that if the Housing Authority wanted <br />to apply for any additional units, the application must be sub- <br />mitted to HUD by June 11, 1976; and that he would recommend an <br />application for 150-200 more units based on present demand. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Following discussion, the City Manager suggested that staff check <br />with other Orange County cities to find out whether or not they <br />intend to apply to HUD for any units and then submit a report to <br />the Authority at the next Regular City Council meeting of June 7, <br />1976. <br /> <br />On motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bricken <br />the Authority received and filed the letter received from HUD. <br />
