Ortiz, in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, <br />Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Gordon Bricken <br />Harry K. Yamamoto <br />Vernon S. Evans <br />John Garthe <br />Oavid L. Brandt <br />James E.Ward <br />Oavid F. Ortiz, Chairman <br /> <br />The following persons were also present: <br /> <br />Manuel Rede, Executive Oirector-Secretary <br />Bruce C. Spragg, City Manager <br />Keith Gow, City Attorney <br />John Stevens, Public Works Director <br />Florence I. Malone, Recording Secretary <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />The full reading of <br />Minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting of June 27, 1978 <br />was waived and they were approved as mai led on the unanimously <br />carried 7:0 motion of Commissioner Evans, seconded by Commissioner <br />Brandt. <br /> <br />The monthly report for <br />the Section 8 Rental <br />Assistance Payments <br />Program dated July 17, 1978 <br />indicating that 407 of the <br />470 units authorized by the Department of Housing and Urban Development <br />(HUD) were under lease as of July 1, 1978, was received and filed on <br />the unanimously carried 7:0 motion of Commissioner Evans, seconded by <br />Commissioner Brandt. <br /> <br />REPORT OF SECRETARY <br />SECTION 8 RENTAL ASSISTANCE <br />PAYMENTS PROGRAM <br />RECEIVED AND FILED <br /> <br />As recommended in the <br />report dated July 17, 1978, <br />prepared by Peter A. Grams, <br />the Authority approved the <br />Annual Contributions <br />Contract, which includes <br />a new allocation of <br />additional units of existing housing under the Section <br />Program, as follows: <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />SECTION 8 EXISTING HOUSING <br />ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS CONTRACT <br />APPROVED <br />RESOLUTION 78-2 <br />ADOPTED <br /> <br />$502,920 for 143 <br />8 Rental Subsidy <br /> <br />14 - 1 bedroom <br />107 - 2 bedroom <br />11 - 3 bedroom <br />11 - 4 bedroom <br /> <br />This brings the number of units authorized to a total of 613. <br />Commissioner Bricken moved the approval; the motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Ward and carried unanimously 7:0. <br />
