AFFIRMATIVE ACTION REPORT Council received <br />PERSONNEL BOARD RESOLUTION and filed the letter <br />FILED dated March 5, 1976 <br /> from Personnel Board <br />Chairman Richard Grace transmitting a =esolution of the <br />Board, recommending that Council adopt and implement the <br />three Affirmative Action Job Restructuring Reports submitted <br />by Personnel Department Staff, on the unanimously approved <br />(7:0) motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman <br />Brandt. <br /> <br />Prior to the vote, City Manager Bruce Spragg, stated that <br />the three areas needing restructuring were the Water Divi- <br />sion, the Recreation Division and the Library Department, <br />and that the total annual cost for the proposed restructur- <br />ing would be $24,276. <br /> <br />Councilman Evans said that because of the hiring freeze that <br />the matter should be brought up at Budget time. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward said he would favor changes of job titles to <br />non-sexist titles. <br /> <br />Councilman Bricken stated that Staff could be responsive to <br />Council concerns and resubmit a revised recommendation; and <br />that Council supports all aspects of Affirmative Action. <br /> <br />Mayor Garthe emphasized that these matters are of great con- <br />cern to employees, and that he would like Staff to resubmit <br />with additional information. CA 50.4 <br /> <br />BUS SHELTER PROPOSAL Council continued <br />EKO PROTBCTION SERVICE consideration of~ <br />CONTINUED the proposal from <br /> EKO Protection <br />Service dated March 5, 1976, to install shelters in every <br />bus stop in the City, to the April 19 meeting, on motion <br />of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Brandt, and <br />carried (6:1), with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting. <br /> <br />A prior motion to deny the proposal by Councilman Evans, <br />seconded by Councilman Bricken, and carried unanimously <br />[?:0), was reconsidered on the unanimously approved (?:0) <br />motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Evans. <br /> <br />Michael J. Silvas, 1140 W. Santa Aha Boulevard, speaking on <br />behalf of BKO Protection Service, requested the continuance <br />because he had not been provided with a copy of the Staff <br />report, and had not had an opportunity to review it prior <br />to the meeting. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward commented that he ~ould not approve adver- <br />tising on bus shelters in residential areas; Mayor Garthe <br />agreed. CA <br /> CA <br /> <br />DAR BRONZE MARKER The request from <br />HOWE-WAFFLE HOUSE M.
