<br />. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />=.;. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />MAY 24, 1977 <br /> <br />SENIOR CITIZEN HOUSING DEVELOPMENT <br />BUDGET, FISCAL YEAR 1977-1978 <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />The Authority <br />approved the <br />proposed Budget <br />for Senior Citi- <br />zen Housing (Section 23 Revised - New Construction) Program <br />for fiscal year 1977-78, in the amount of $690,570, on the <br />unanimously carried motion (7-0) of Commissioner Ward, seconded <br />by Commissioner Bricken. The 200-unit Senior Citizens Housing <br />Development is in the final stages of completion, and initial <br />tenant occupancy is scheduled for late August and early Septem- <br />ber, 1977. It is located near Birch Park, First and Ross Streets. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-2 <br />TENANT MAXIMUM INCOME LIMITS <br />CONTINUED <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF <br />THE HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA REPEALING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 72-15 AND ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM INCOME LIMITS FOR <br />ADMISSION TO, AND OCCUPANCY OF, LOW-INCOME HOUSING LEASED BY THE <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA was continued to the <br />next Regular Meeting of June 20, 1977, on motion of Commissioner <br />Bricken, seconded by Commissioner Ward, with Commissioner Evans <br />dissenting (6-1). <br /> <br />Commissioner Ward stated that there is a great need in Santa Ana for <br />housing for low-income families. Commissioner Bricken agreed and <br />stated that he did not favor raising the income limits for tenants. <br /> <br />SPECIAL HOUSING ALLOCATION <br />FROM SCAG <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />On motion of Com- <br />missioner Ortiz, <br />seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Garthe, and <br />carried (6-1) with Commissioner Evans dissenting, the Authority <br />approved the 20-unit SCAG (Southern California Association of <br />Governments) Allocation for inclusion in the City's Section 8 <br />Program, and authorized the Executive Director to submit the <br />required documentation to secure the Allocation. <br /> <br />On motion of <br />CQmmissioner Bricken, <br />seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Ward, and <br />carried (7-0), the Authority approved participation in the joint <br />application for 49 units of Leased Housing for Handicapped persons, <br />and authorized the Chairman to forward a letter of "Intent to <br />Participate" to the Chairperson of the Orange County Housing Authority. <br /> <br />STATE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING & <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ALLOCATION <br />49 UNITS FOR HANDICAPPED - APPROVED <br /> <br />REPORTS OF COMMITTEES <br /> <br />Nothing to report. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Nothing to report. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Commissioner 'Brandt <br />requested that the <br />developer of the <br />Senior Citizens <br />Consultants, Inc., provide a <br />the housing site on First Street. <br /> <br />Housing Project, National Housing <br />24-hour emergency phone number at <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The meeting was <br />adjourned at 6:55 P.M. <br />on the unanimously <br />approved motion of <br />Ortiz. <br /> <br />Commissioner Evans, seconded <br /> <br /> <br />H RRY <br />CHAI <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />RECORDING SECRETARY <br />
