Belmont, Recordirg Secretary <br /> <br />MIlmES '!he full readirg of the Reorganization <br />APPROVED Meetirg on April 10, 1979 was waived and <br />they were approved as mailed on the unanil1Pusly <br />carried 7:0 l1Ption of Carunissioner Yam3I!Dto, seconded by Carunissioner Ward. <br /> <br />'!he full readirg of the Regular Meetirg on <br />April 2, 1979 was waived and they were approved <br />as mailed on the unanil1Pusly carried 7:0 <br />l1Ption of Carunissioner Yamamoto, seconded by Carunissioner Ward. <br /> <br />'!be l1Pnthly report for the Rental Assistance <br />Program dated April 25, 1979 indicated that <br />467 of the 613 units authorized by the Depart- <br />ment of Housirg & Urban Developnent (HUD) <br />were under lease as of May 1, 1979. Mr. <br />Manuel Rede, Executive Director, ccmnented that there had been 26 leases and contracts <br />renewed for families currently receivirg assistance through the Section 8 Program. <br />Four families currently receivirg housirg assistance were relocated within the Hous- <br />irg Authority Program. '!his canpares with 26 relocations durirg the l1Pnth of March, <br />1979, and is attributable to the increases in Fair Market Rents (FMR) granted by HUD <br />in March. 'IWO certificates were issued durirg the first week of April, 1979, and an <br />additional 40 applicants have been notified that they would receive Certificates on <br />April 27,1979, provided that they would submit income verification prior to the <br />Certificate briefing. <br /> <br />REPORI' OF SECREI'ARY <br />SECTlOO 8 RENI'AL ASSISTANCE <br />PAYMENTS PRŒRAM <br />. RECEIVED AND FILED <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On April 17, 1979 the Housirg Authority accepted 539 applications for housing assist- <br />ance. For one-bed roan, there were a total of 160 applications, but only 3 Certifi- <br />cates are available; two-bedroan, there were a total of 165 applications, 117 Certi- <br />ficates available; three-bedrooms, there were 122 applications, 10 Certificates <br />available; and for the four-bedroan, there were 79 applications, and only 16 Certi- <br />ficates available. c)'¡t of the 539 new accepted applications, five were found to be <br />over-incaned and eight had no family income. <br /> <br />Carunissioner Serrato asked Mr. Rede how the Santa Ana Housirg Authority went about <br />advertisirg for new application acceptance. Mr. Rede stated that we do have a number <br />of families on file and as soon as we know that applications are goirg to be opened, <br />we immedi"'t:ely send them a post card tell irg them that we are in the process of <br />acceptirg applications for this program. <br /> <br />2 <br />
