2ND PARAMEDIC UNIT - AMENDMENT TO On the recommendation of <br />SANTA ANA-TUSTIN COMMUNITY HOSPITAL Acting Fire Chief Raymond <br />AGREEMENT - AUTHORIZED H. Bachtelle, in his <br /> report of May 12, 1976, <br />the Fire Department was authorized to immediately place into <br />operation the second paramedic van; and Staff was authorized <br />to negotiate amendments to the existing paramedic agreement <br />with Santa Ana-Tustin Community Hospital to provide an orderly <br />transition from Fire Department paramedics to civilian para- <br />medics, on the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Council- <br />man Bricken, and carried (6:0) unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Phil Gazzo of Schaefer Ambulance, 2227 South Bristol, <br />stated that he expects to have some men certified as para~ <br />medics, and hopes the City would permit him to make a proposal <br />at that time. <br /> <br />City Manager Bruce Spragg stated that the City will hear any <br />proposal to contract for paramedic services to determine rela- <br />tive cost and effectiveness; and that the door is open to such <br />a proposal.
