CA 42.S <br /> <br />ORAL REPORT Bill Morgan, Man In <br />MAN IN WASHINGTON REPORT Washington, narrated a <br />BILL MORGAN slide program reporting <br /> on the status of his <br />activities on behalf of the Consortium Cities in 1975. <br /> <br />City Manager Bruce Spragg announced that this is the time of <br />year when the Consortium Cities consider renewal of the Man <br />In Washington contract; that all five cities probably will <br />renew very shortly; that the cost will be increasing slightly <br />and Santa Ana's share will be $18,900; that the contract is <br />available and will be brought to Council very shortly for <br />consideration. CA 57.1A <br /> <br />Councilma-n Evans joined the meeting at 3:40 P.M. during the <br />Man In Washington presentation. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION City Attorney Keith Gow <br />INTRODUCTION OF ED COOPER stated that he was <br />P.D. LEGAL ADVISOR pleased to announce <br /> the appointment of the <br />new Police Department Legal Advisor~ that he was very happy <br />to find an attorney who had served on a police force, and <br />who had worked his way through law school, and is very well <br />qualified to serve the City; and he introduced Mr. Ed Cooper. <br /> <br /> Cooper stated that he was excited <br />merit, and that he would give his best <br /> <br />to receive the appoint- <br />effort to the job. CA 47 <br /> CA 81 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Bricken <br />SPECIAL AWARDS - PARAMEDICS suggested that now <br />AUTHORIZED that the City has <br /> launched the second~ <br />paramedic unit, that it would be appropriate to prepare~ <br />special awards for the Firemen of the first paramedic unit <br />who worked many long hours above and beyond the call of duty <br />to keep the unit in service. On the motion of Councilman <br />Bricken, seconded by Councilman Brandt, unanimously (7:0) <br />carried, staff was authorized to prepare commendations. CA 64.2 <br /> CA 73B <br /> <br />ORAL CON~qUNICATION City Manager Bruce <br />FOUNTAIN VALLEY PARAMEDICS Spragg related an <br />MAYOR TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION incident which oc- <br /> curred on Friday of <br />last week during which the Santa Ana Paramedics responded <br />to a call to assist a Santa Aha child who had severely cut <br />an artery; that the Fountain Yalley paramedics were called <br />for additional assistance; that they did respond and were <br />responsible for saving the life of ~the child; that a letter <br />of appreciation from the Mayor would certainly be in order. <br />The Council concurred, and unanimously carried (7:0) the <br />motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto <br />to authorize the Mayor to write a letter of appreciation to <br />the City of Fountain Valley.
