ORAL COMMUNICATION City Manager Bruce Spragg <br />LEAGUE TASK FORCE - BANKING announced that he had <br />& HOUSING COMMITTEE received a telephone call <br />NOMINATED MAYOR & VICE MAYOR from our "Man in Washing- <br /> ton" Bill Morgan asking <br />for nominations for elective representatives to a League of <br />Cities Task Force to work with the Banking and Housing Commit- <br />tee on the re-enactment of the Community Development Program. <br />The Council nominated Mayor Garthe on the unanimously carried <br />(6:0) motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman <br />Bricken; and as an alternate Vice Mayor Evans on the unanimously <br />carried (6:0) motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Brandt. CA 1S0 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Brandt was <br />LEAGUE TASK FORCE authorized to attend a <br />BRANDT AUTHORIZED meeting on November 17 <br /> in Burlingame for the <br />League of Cities Committee on Public Safety With expenses <br />paid, on the-unanimously approved (6:0) motion of Councilman <br />Ward, seconded by Councilman Evans. CA 148.5 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Evans stated <br />HIRING FREEZE that all possible bene- <br />DISCONTINUED fits had been obtained <br /> from the Hiring Freeze, <br />and he moved to discontinue it immediately; his motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Brandt, and carried (S:I), with Coun- <br />cilman Bricken dissenting. CA S0 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Bricken's <br />INSTALLMENT PERMIT FEES motion to refer to <br />REFERRED the City Attorney the <br /> question of whether <br />Bingo and Massage Permit fees could be paid in installments <br />was seconded by Councilman Ward, and carried (S:l), with <br />Councilman Evans dissenting. CA 65' <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 4:50 P.M. Mayor <br />LEGAL MATTERS Garthe recessed the <br /> meeting to an Execu- <br /> tive session called <br />to discuss pending litigation; the meeting reconvened at <br />$:00 P.M. with the same Council members present. <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATION Supervisor Ralph <br />SUPERVISOR DIEDRICH Diedrich attended <br />REVENUE SHARING FUNDS the Council meeting <br /> to personally present <br />to the City two County Revenue Sharing checks for City <br />projects: One for $117,367, for the Senior Citizens Ser- <br />vice Center building, and the other for $20,000, for the <br />renovation of the Newhope Fire Station to a community <br />center. Mr. Diedrich stated that the County of Orange had <br />tried to identify the problems of our joint citizens, and <br />hopefully address them; that there had been additional <br />discussions with Mayor Garthe and Councilman Brandt into <br />other fields; and that it seemed appropriate that the new <br />Supervisor concur with the final decision.
