The City Council by unanimous informal agreement sustained the <br />request of the Director of Public Works that as a condition of <br />the construction of a 100' x 100' free standing warehouse on <br />property located at 1224 East Warner Avenue, the owner of the <br />property be required to cause the construction of 125' of side- <br />walk 5' wide along the frontage wher~ there is presently no <br />sidewalk and to plant five street trees across the frontage <br />upon which they do not presently exist. CA 29.4 <br /> <br />RECESS At 5:08 P.M. the Council <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY recessed the Council <br /> meeting to convene the <br /> Regular Meeting of the <br />Community Redevelopment Agency, and reconvened the Council <br />meeting at 6:10 P.M. with the same Council members present. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING CITY BUDGET <br />& GENERAL REVENUE SHARING BUDGET <br />FISCAL YEAR 1977-78 - APPROVED <br /> <br />on the City's Budget and General <br />fiscal year 1977-78. <br /> <br /> Mayor Vernon S. Evans <br /> announced that this was <br /> the time and place set <br /> for the public hearing <br />Revenue Sharing Budget for <br /> <br />City Manager Bruce Spragg referred to the Staff report dated <br />June 23, 1977 prepared by Jed Christensen, and stated that the <br />one change authorized by Council, to allocate $25,000 to Budget <br />Activity 51-563-631, for the installation of a traffic signal <br />at First and Jackson Streets, with the recommendation that the <br />signal be installed as rapidly as possible, had been included; <br />that the adoption of the Budget would not fix the tax rate, <br />which would be considered by Council as soon as the City's <br />Assessed Valuation was provided by the County Tax Assessor; <br />and that a report would be prepared setting forth various options <br />for expenditure of additional revenues based on the exact amounts <br />available. <br /> <br />Mr. Joe Gilmaker, 308 West Fourth Street, stated that he was not <br />opposed to the Budget; warned about dependency on revenue shar- <br />ing; expressed dismay with the idea of building a new police <br />facility; and recommended that surplus moneys be used to reduce <br />the tax rate more than the 2~ proposed. <br /> <br />There were no other persons who responded to the Mayor's request <br />for comments, pro or con, and no written communications. Mayor <br />Evans closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Council approved the City's Budget in the total amount of <br />$67,644,520, including the General Revenue Sharing Budget in <br />the amount of $2,300,000, and placed the following ordinance on <br />first reading on the motion of Councilman Garthe, seconded by <br />Councilman Brandt, and carried 5:1, with Councilman Bricken <br />dissenting: <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO.
