Physical Sign Types. <br /> <br />Physical classification of project signage will be by the following <br />categories: <br /> <br />1. Freestanding signs. <br />2. Wall/canopy signs. <br />3. Projecting signs. <br />4. Marquee signs (Theater Only). <br />5. Under canopy/window/hanging signs. <br /> <br />D. General Criteria. <br /> <br />The following design guidelines generally address the design criteria for <br />the sign program. <br /> <br />1. Color and typography of signs will be evaluated on the basis of <br />aesthetics and legibility rather than conformance to strict criteria. <br /> <br />2. Intermittent lights, bare bulbs, neon, illusions of motion, or other <br />mechanical movement are acceptable only within the interior of <br />the project. Such signage could be used with respect to the theatre, <br />or restaurants. Such signs shall not be visible from the perimeter <br />public right-of-way or the residential development in the project. <br /> <br />3. Well designed pageantry systems consisting of flags and banners, <br />festoons, flag canopies and related displays will be permitted on <br />the interior of the City Place project, provided they are consistent <br />with the overall design of the signage plan, and do not create a <br />safety hazard and do not adversely affect adjacent land uses. <br /> <br />4. The sign program shall acknowledge approval of carefully worded <br />on-site circulation directional signage. <br /> <br />E. Criteria For Individual Sign Types -; will be determined by the approved <br />sign program. Shall conform to size limitations as outlined in SAMC. <br /> <br />1.
