BOARDS & COMMISSIONS Mary Jane Klauss was <br />APPOINTMENTS & REAPPOINTMENTS appointed to cdmplete <br /> the term left by John <br /> Hoy on the Bowers Memorial <br />Museum Board, for a term ending June 30, 1982, on the motion <br />of Councilman Brandt, seconded by Councilman Bricken, and carried <br />6:0 unanimously. <br /> <br />Human Relations Commission/Housing Advisory Commission appoint- <br />ments were given to Alice M. Chute, Ward 2, and Elle Ross, <br />Ward 2, as Senior Citizen-Housing Authority tenant representa- <br />tive (term expiring August 1, 1978), and Housing Authority tenant <br />representative (term expiring August 1, 1981), replacing <br />Alda Gaines and Adela Salinas, respectively, on the motion of <br />Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Brandt, carried 6:0 <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />On the motion of Councilman Ortiz, seconded by Councilman <br />Bricken, carried 5:1, with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting, <br />the following reappointments for four-year terms ending June 30, <br />1982 and one year terms ending June 30, 1979, as indicated, <br />were made: <br /> <br />John M. City Manager Bruce <br />Spragg reported that the City is expecting to receive $2,632,500 <br />from the State's surplus, which will enable the City to perform <br />essential services. <br /> <br />Juanita Davis asked specific questions concerning the effect of <br />Proposition 13 on the City's budget and generally advocated cuts <br />in the municipal apending at all levels.
