CA 50 <br /> <br />The motion by Councilman Brandt, seconded by Councilman Garthe, <br />to approve the Police Department request for an Assistant <br />Identification Technician and a Programmer Analyst, failed to <br />carry on a 3:3 vote, with Councilmen Yamamoto and Bricken and <br />Vice Mayor Ward dissenting. CA SO <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Vice Mayor Ward reminded <br />MAYOR'S TASK FORCE FOR Council that recommendations <br />CITY SERVICES (two from each Councilman) <br /> are due for nomination to <br />the Mayor's Task Force for Review of City Services, and that not <br />all of the Council m~mbers have submitted recommendations. <br /> CA 80.9 <br /> <br />RECESS - EXECUTIVE SESSION At 5:22 P.M. Council <br />RECESS - DINNER AT REUBENS BROADWAY recessed for an Executive <br /> Session to discuss pending <br /> litigation; at 5:40 P.M. the <br />meeting was reconvened with the same Councilmen present, and <br />immediately recessed for dinner. At 7:30 P.M. the meeting again <br />reconvened with all Councilmen present, including Mayor Evans. <br /> <br />INVOCATION Following the Pledge of <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Allegiance to the Flag, <br /> the Invocation was given <br /> by Pastor Dominick <br />Tamietti of the Spurgeon United Methodist Church. Rice adminis- <br />HERITAGE EVALUATION COMMITTEE tered the Oath of Office <br /> to Norma Wurzer, appointed <br />to the Cultural Heritage Evaluation Committee, and Council wel- <br />comed Mrs. Wurzer as a new member of the Committee. GRAND Appellant, requested con- <br />CONTINUED TO OCTOBER 2 tinuance of Negative <br /> Declaration and Appeal #394 <br />of the Planning Commission Denial of Variance Application No. <br />78-41 to allow outdoor display and storage of camper tops for <br />sale at 938 N. Grand in the C5 District.
