CITY REPRESENTATIVE TO Based on the information <br />VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT that was received from <br />VACANCY DECLARED Mr. Pimental's father by <br /> the office of the Clerk <br />of the Council that Dennie Pimental, recently appointed to <br />represent the City on the Orange County Vector Control Dis- <br />trict, has moved to Oakland an8 cannot accept the appointment, <br />the post was declared vacant on the unanimously carried 4:0 <br />motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Brandt. <br /> CA 80.9 <br /> <br />RECESS At 3:26 P.M. the City <br /> Council recessed the <br /> meeting for dinner at <br /> the Hungry Tiger Restau- <br />rant and to receive a report on the Marks-Foran Rehabilitation <br />Program by Noah Newmark prior to consideration of the matter <br />on the evening Agenda. Council reconvened at 7:30 P.M. with <br />Councilmen Yamamoto, Brandt, Ortiz and Mayor Evans present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION Following the Pledge of <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Allegiance to the Flag, <br /> a moment of silence was <br /> observed in memory of <br />Fred Siffermann, respected member of the City's Planning Commis- <br />sion, Transportation Advisory Committee and Civic Center Commis- <br />sion representative, who died on Friday, November 17, 1978. <br />The Reverend Glenn McFarland'of the Reformed Presbyterian <br />Church gave the Invocation. CA 80.17 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION PRESENTATION The proclamation of the <br />TOYS FOR TOTS Mayor urging community <br /> participation in the <br /> Christmas "Toys for Tots" <br />program, which will be sponsored by the United States Marine <br />Corps Reserve Training Center from December t through Decem- <br />ber 20, 1978, was presented by Councilman Yamamoto to Staff <br />Sergeant Gary Turnbeau, representing the Training Center, who <br />in turn presented a certificate of appreciation to the City. <br /> <br />The "March of Dimes Birth Defects Prevention Month" proclamation, <br />scheduled for presentation at this time, was not presented, as <br />there was no representative present to receive it.
