INSTALLATION OF NEWLY Clerk of the Council, Diedre' <br />ELECTED COUNCIL MEMBERS Lingenfelter, adminstgred the oath <br /> of office and presented certificates <br />of election to Councilmen Griset, Luxembourger, Serrato and Markel. <br /> <br />ADJOUR~FANT The Mayor announced adjournment <br />SINE DIE sine die, and requested the Clerk <br /> of the Council to preside during <br />the initial proceedings for the reorganization of the Council. <br /> <br />REORGANIZATION <br />OF COUNCIL <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council called <br />for nomination for the office of <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Councilman James E. ~rd was nominated by Bricken, seconded by Griset. <br />Councilman Harry K. Yamamoto was nominated by Markel; no second to the <br />nomination. Councilman J. Ogden B~rkel was nominated by Yamamoto; no <br />second to the nomination. <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Griset, to close the nominations <br />for the office of Mayor. <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />BRICKEN, GRISET, LUXBMBOURGER, bi~RKEL, SERRATO <br />WARD, YA~I~4OTO <br />NONE <br /> <br />Councilman Markel r~quested the vote be taken by secret ballot. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council anno~mced that Councilman James E. Ward had been <br />elected Mayor. At the request of Councilman Markel, she stated the vote <br />was S to 2 in favor of Councilman Ward. <br /> <br />The Clerk returned the chair to ~yorWard. <br /> <br />Mayor Ward thanked the Council for its confidence in electing him to the <br />office of Mayor and stated he was pleased to assume those duties for the <br />coming year. <br /> <br />ELECTION OF VICE MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Ward called for nomination for <br />the office of Vice }~yor. <br /> <br />Councilman Bricken was nominated by Griset, seconded by Ward. Councilman <br />Yamamoto was nominated by Markel, seconded by Serrato. <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Griset, seconded by Markel, to close the nominations <br />for the office of Vice Mayor. <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />BRICI<BN, GRISET, LUXEMBOURGER, MARKBL, SERRATO <br />WARD, YAMAMOTO <br />NONE <br /> <br />The vote was taken by secret ballot.
