ORAL COMv~JNICATION Councilman Markel urged Council <br />COUNCILMAN MARKEL members to make recommendations <br /> for appointments to vacancies <br /> on Boards and Commissions in <br />accordance with the Council's revised policy. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Bricken reinforced Councilman Markel's remarks, stating that <br />each Councilman where he has a responsibility to bring forward names as <br />nominees should do so by the next meeting, if possible, and should be sure <br />each nominee completes and files in the Clerk's office an Application for <br />Service to the City. He stated that <br />there is imminent threat of losing the station to Anaheim, that City has <br />not indicated a willingness to keep the station by seeking solutions to <br />parking problems. <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Ward, seconded by Luxembourger, to endorse the idea of <br />proceeding with development and planning for improved parking at the Amtrak <br />Station. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br /> <br />BRICKEN, GRISET, LUXENBOURGER, MARKEL, SERRATO, WARD, YAMAMOTO <br />NONE <br /> <br />ORAL COb[~IJNICATION CouncilmanMarkel referred to <br />COONCII3C~MARKBL the question of whether the <br /> City should validate parking <br /> in the Plaza parking lot for <br />people who come in to pay their water bills. <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that the estimated cost to the City of validating <br />parking tickets would be $500 per month. <br /> <br />Mayor Ward suggested the possibility of including return envelopes with <br />water bills. <br /> <br />CA 12.2 <br /> <br />RECESS At 9:40 p.m. Council recessed to <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION Executive Session to discuss per- <br />ADJOUR~ENT sonnel mmtters.
