PROCLAMATION PRESENTATION Vice Mayor Bricken presented
<br />"RECREATION & PARKS MONTH" to Philip Reber, Chairman of
<br />BOARD OF RECREATION & PARKS the Board of Recreation and
<br /> Parks, a Proclamation proclaiming
<br />the month of June as '~ecreation and Parks Month" in the City of Santa
<br />Ana, and encouraged all citizens to visit and enjoy the City's parks.
<br />
<br />Mr. Reber introduced members of the Board John Thompson, Beverly Reed,
<br />Ellen Schulthess, Claudia Farley, Ezequial Garza, Lester McKnight, and
<br />Albert Salgado.

<br />AUTHORIZED Plan recon~nended by the task
<br /> force made up of Consultants,
<br />Ron Yeo & Richardson Chase Associates, Board members, and members of
<br />"Friends of the Children's Zoo". He introduced Ron Yeo who described the
<br />proposed plan with the aid of slide transparencies, including Phases I
<br />and II.
<br />
<br />MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Lux~nbourger, to approve the Zoo
<br />Master Plan as submitted; to approve completion of Phase I; and to authorize
<br />staff to develop implementation and funding for Phase II.

<br />PUBLIC HEARING - LOGAN AREA The Mayor announced that this was

<br /> consideration of Amendment Applica-
<br />tion No. 813 to rezone property located within that area known as the Logan
<br />Area to a new use district, continued from the June 4, 1979, meeting.

<br />Sam Romero, 2034 South Spruce Street, representing the residents, spoke in
<br />favor of the proposed Ordinance No. NS-1490, as revised by the City Attorney
<br />following the June 4 hearing.
<br />
<br />Dale Heinly, 838 North Van Ness, representing the industrial users, asked
<br />that the M2 designation be retained in the ordinance, instead of M1.
<br />
<br />MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Serrato, to place the following
<br />ordinance on first reading and authorize publication of title:
