<br />RELOCATION OF SER HEADQUARTERS that he had received copy of a
<br />IN CITY - SUPPORT~ED letter from Pedro R. Garza,
<br /> National Director of SER - Jobs
<br />for ?rogress, Inc., to the Santa Ana Chamber of Comnerce, informing the
<br />Chamber that SER is contemplating relocation of its National Headquarters
<br />in Santa Ana; that a meeting of the National Board of Directors of SER
<br />will be held in Detroit on August 16, 1979, to select the new site. Mr.
<br />Rede further reported that LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens)
<br />is considering sending a representative to Detroit to support selection of
<br />Santa Ana as the new location.
<br />
<br />Councilman Serrato declared a conflict of interest in the matter.
<br />
<br />MOTION was made by Yamamoto, seconded by Ward, to urge National SER to
<br />give favorable consideration to Santa Aha as the site for the relocation
<br />of the national headquarters, and to direct staff to cooperate with SER
<br />and LULAC in support of the proposal.
