Thornton, Interim City Manager <br />Keith Gow, City Attorney <br />Edward Cooper, Assistant City Manager <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT RESOLUTION DIRECTING <br />PROPERTY WITHIN THE DOWNTOWN PARKING GARAGE SITE <br /> <br />CONDEMNATION <br /> <br />OF <br /> <br />The Chairman announced that this was the time and place for the <br />public hearing on the issue of the public necessity to acquire by <br />condemnation property known as Assessor Parcel 008-126-08, for <br />Redevelopment purposes. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Hammill, the Agency's Real Estate Officer, reported that <br />the property is located on the east side of Sycamore Street between <br />Third and Fourth Streets in Santa Ana, California, and that the <br />property has a frontage of 40 feet with a depth of 125 feet with <br />its north boundary being the south right-of-way line of existing <br />east-west alley. The property contains 5,000 square feet and is a <br />vacant lot improved with asphaltic concrete and leased to Lloyds <br />Bank for parking purposes. <br /> <br />The Real Estate Officer explained why the public interest and <br />necessity require the project; why the project is planned or <br />located in the manner that will be most compatible with the <br />greatest public good and the least private injury; and why the <br />property sought to be acquired is necessary for the project. <br /> <br />The Chairman then asked to hear from the public regarding this <br />project. There was no response. <br /> <br />After general discussion between the Agency members and staff, the <br />Chairman closed the public hearing. A motion was made by Mr. <br />Luxembourger, seconded by Mr. Serrato and carried by the following <br />roll call vote to adopt Resolution 80-46: A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING <br />AND DIRECTING THE CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR <br />
