<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />EXTENSION OF EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE ON THE C-8 SITE <br /> <br />It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Acosta and <br />carried unanimously (7:0) that the Redevelopment Agency approve an extension <br />of the Exclusive Right to Negotiate with Griffin/Related Properties for a <br />14-month period for development of the C-8 site. <br /> <br />BOWERS MUSEUM EXPANSION - SOILS AND MATERIAL TESTING AND INSPECTION SERVICES <br /> <br />It was moved by Agency Member Acosta, seconded by Agency Member McGuigan and <br />carried unanimously (7:0) that the Redevelopment Agency authorize solicitation <br />of proposals to provide soils and material testing and inspection services for <br />the Bowers Museum Expansion. <br /> <br />BOWERS MUSEUM EXPANSION - BID SOLICITATION FOR RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF <br />BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />It was moved by Agency Member Acosta, seconded by Agency Member McGuigan and <br />carried unanimously (7:0) that the Redevelopment Agency authorize the <br />solicitation of bids to prequalified contractors for the renovation and new <br />construction of the Bowers Museum Expansion. <br /> <br />BID AWARD FOR THE BROADWAY THEATER DEMOLITION <br /> <br />Agency Member Acosta asked if the Agency would save money by acquiring the <br />adjacent property and demolishing both properties at the same time. <br />Cynthia Nelson, Executive Director/Community Development, commented that the <br />the Agency anticipates acquiring the property adjacent to the theater; <br />however, even if a voluntary sale could be accomplished, it would take at <br />least four months. In light of the time involved, staff still recoDUllends <br />proceeding with the demolition. <br /> <br />After further discussion, it was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by <br />Agency Member Pulido and carried by majority vote 6:1 (Agency Member Acosta <br />opposed) that the Redevelopment Agency: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Reject the low bid from American Demolition, Inc. as nonresponsive due to <br />lack of a certification for asbestos abatement. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Award the bid and authorize the Chairman and the Executive Director to <br />execute a contract with San Diego Diamond--dba Diamond Pacifico-in the <br />amount of $229,300 for the demolition of the Broadway Theater. <br /> <br />FISCAL YEAR 1990-91 ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br />It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Acosta and <br />carried unanimously (7:0) that the Redevelopment Agency continue this item to <br />the next City Council meeting, July 2, 1990. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
