PROCLAMATIONS <br />"CANCER CONTROL MONTH" <br />"VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION WEEK" <br /> <br />this time. <br /> <br />No one was present to receive <br />the Mayor's proclamation of <br />April as "Cancer Control Month", <br />scheduled for presentation at <br /> <br />Mayor Ward presented a proclamation designating the week from April 20 <br />through 26, 1980, as "Volunteer Recognition Week" to Eldos Cable, Board <br />Member, Voluntary Action Center. <br /> <br />THORNTON PARK ACCESS The Assistant City Manager <br />CHANGE OF LOCATION presented the staff report <br />APPROVED and recommendation pertaining <br /> to the request from neighbor- <br />hood residents for a change of proposed access to Thornton Park, which <br />was referred to staff by Council on January 21, 1980 (Referral Item 5-80). <br /> <br />Speakers in favor of changing the vehicular access from the proposed <br />Douglas Street location, recommended by staff and the Board of Recrea- <br />tion and Parks, were: <br /> <br />David Gibbons, 2018 West Hemlock Way <br />A1 fred L. Goodman, 2006 W.
