PUBLIC HEARING - EX 80-6 The public hearing for con- <br />2419 No GRAND AVENUE sideration of the Zoning <br />DENIED Administrator approval of <br /> Minor Exception No. 80-6, <br />to permit construction and operation of a liquor store at 2419 North <br />Grand Avenue in the C5 District, was opened by the Mayor. <br /> <br />The Planning Director presented the staff report and recommendations. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported there were no written communications. <br /> <br />Elsie Masumoto, 1302 E. Cherry, spoke in opposition to the Minor Exception. <br />There were no other speakers for or against the proposal. The Mayor <br />closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Following discussion, MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Yamamoto, <br />to approve and file the Negative Declaration and to instruct the City <br />Attorney to prepare a resolution denying Minor Exception 80-6, over- <br />ruling the decision of the Zoning Administrator. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Luxembourger, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />Griset, Markel <br />None <br /> <br />CA 13.5 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - EX 80-10 The public hearing for <br />2154 S. BRISTOL STREET consideration of Minor <br />NO ACTION Exception No. 80-10, to <br /> allow on-sale beer and <br />wine in a proposed restaurant (Massino's Pizza) within a shopping center <br />under construction at 2154 S. Bristol Street in the C2 District, was <br />opened by the Mayor. <br /> <br />The Planning Director presented the staff report and recommendations. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported there were no written communications. <br /> <br />There were no speakers in favor of or in opposition to the Minor <br />Exception. <br /> <br />Following discussion, the MOTION made by Griset, seconded by Serrato, <br />to approve and file the Notice of Exemption and to instruct the City <br />Attorney to prepare a resolution approving Minor Exception 80-10, <br />affirming the decision of the Zoning Administrator, FAILED to carry <br />on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Griset, Luxembourger, Serrato <br />Bricken, Markel, Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br /> <br />The MOTION made by Bricken, seconded by Yamamoto, to approve and file <br />the Notice of Exemption and to instruct the City Attorney to prepare <br />a resolution denying Minor Exception 80-10, overruling the decision of <br />the Zoning Administrator, FAILED to carry on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Ward, Yamamoto <br />Griset, Luxent>ourger, Markel, Serrato <br />None <br /> <br />The MOTION by Griset, seconded by Serrato, to continue consideration of the <br />matter to May 5, 1980, FAILED to carry on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Griset, Luxembourger, Serrato <br />Bricken, Markel, Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br /> <br />CA 13.5 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />137 APRIL 21, 1980 <br /> <br /> <br />
