ORAL COMMUNICATION At the request of Councilman <br />STATUS OF COSA PROGRAM Serrato, Council asked staff <br />DIRECTED STAFF to provide a status report <br /> at the next regular Council <br />meeting pertaining to the Cleanup Our Santa Ana (COSA) Program, by unani- <br />meus informal consent. CA 87 <br /> <br />RECESS FOR At 5:10 p.m. Council recessed <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION to executive session for dis- <br />& DINNER cussion of possible settlement <br /> of claims and suits for damages, <br />and personnel matters. Council reconvened at 5:35 p.m., and immediately <br />recessed to dinner at the Black Angus Restaurant, 1350 North Tustin Avenue. <br /> <br />RECONVENED Council reconvened at 7:35 p.m. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE with all meF~bers present except <br />INVOCATION Councilman Bricken, who arrived <br /> at 7:45 p.m. The Invocation was <br />given by Councilman Serrato, following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Bob Williamson, President, reported <br />SERTOMA CLUB OF SANTA ANA on community service projects <br /> sponsored by the Sertoma Club of <br /> Santa Ana during 1979-1980 and <br />extended an invitation to Council in joining the efforts of many in Service <br />To Mankind. On behalf of the Council, the Mayor presented Mr. Williamson <br />with a City en~lem tile plaque as an expression of appreciation for the many <br />services provided to residents of the City by the Sertoma Club of Santa Ana. <br /> CA 9.3 <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATION Gilda Franklin, Director of <br />KTTV CHANNEL 11 Public Affairs, was presented <br /> with a City en~lem tile plaque <br /> by the Mayor for outstanding <br />air-time provided to the City of Santa Aha by KTTV Channel 11 for public <br />affairs programs, public service spots, and news stories. The Mayor <br />also expressed appreciation for Ms. Franklin's assistance in the develop- <br />ment of traffic messages which are presented to elementary school c~l~n. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - EX 80-6 The Mayor announced that this <br />2419 N. GRAND AVENUE was the time and place for <br />RES. 80-80 - CONTINUED TO 6-16-80 reconsideration of Negative <br /> Declaration and Minor Exception <br />No. 80-6 to construct and operate a liquor store in the C5 District at <br />2419 North Grand Avenue, previously denied by Council following public <br />hearing on April 21, 1980. <br /> <br />The Senior Planner presented the staff report and recommendations. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported there were no written communications. <br /> <br />Kam Yee, 10812 Harrogate, requested Council continue reconsideration for <br />30 days. <br /> <br />Elsie Masumoto, 1302 E. Cherry, expressed no objection to continuance <br />of the matter. <br /> <br />There were no other speakers. MOTION was made by Serrato, seconded by <br />Luxembourger, to continue reconsideration of Negative Declaration and <br />Minor Exception No. 80-6, and the following resolution for 30 days: <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 171 MAY 19, 1980 <br /> <br /> <br />
