This development is currently in <br />progress and is anlicipated to be completed by mid- <br />1979, <br /> <br />Santa Ana [mown Housing, To attract additional <br />people into Ihe downtown area, the Agency has <br />embarked upon a multi-phased housing program, <br />Already completed are 200 units of senior citizen <br />housing (Santa Ana Towers), Santa Ana Intown <br />Housing consists of another 200 unils of senior citi- <br />zen housing currently under construction (Rosswood <br />Villa), An additional 300 units will be constructed <br />in two phases under an executed Disposition and <br />Development Agreement belween the Agency and <br />Shapell Government Housing/Goldrich & Kest Asso- <br />ciation. The site is presently being cleared and con- <br />struction of Phase One (150 units) is scheduled <br />for completion in January 1980, This project is cur- <br />rently being partially funded by a combination of <br />city community development funds and tax incre- <br />ment revenue on hand. The Agency will acquire <br />land for resale to the developer arid construct cer- <br />tain street improvements" <br />FaShion Square. Fashion Square is located in <br />the northern portion of the Projeci at the inlersection <br />of three major freeways (Santa Ana, Orange and <br />Garden Grove). The center was buill in the 1950's <br />with one major departmenl store, Bullocks, plus <br />smaller retail stores, To strengthen Santa Ana's <br />economic base and to retain Ward's Department <br />Store within the city limits, the Agency has entered <br />into a development program with the owners of <br />Fashion Square, The expansion program for Fash- <br />ion Square consists of three phases, as summarized <br />below, <br />
