MOTION was made by Griset, seconded by Acosta, to approve implementation <br />of the new City Property Insurance Program through Robert F. Driver Company, <br />insurance brokers, effective November 1, 1981, through October 31, 1984, <br />cancelling existing property policies effective November 1, 1981; and to <br />approve payment of $44,034.00 budgeted funds for the first year's premiums <br />and fees to Robert F. Mr. Wooldridge thanked Council and extended his ser- <br />vices as a "retired cop". <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION Councilmember Markel presented <br />"DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS WEEK" a proclamation to Alfred Kutsch, <br /> Human Relations/Housing Commis- <br /> sion, and Michele Walot, the <br />Assistant Director of the Women's Transitional Living Center, proclaiming <br />the week of October 12-18, 1981, as "Domestic Violence Awareness Week". <br /> CA 46 <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE <br />JOHN COIL, JOHN GARTHE, <br />DOY HENLEY, JOHN W. Noe, newly appoint- <br />ed at-large representatives to <br /> <br />Council welcomed the newly-appointed members to this Board. <br /> <br />CA 80.9 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Jake Alario, State Chairman, <br />G.I. FORUM OF SANTA ANA American G.I. Forum, presented <br /> an overview of the activities <br /> of the Forum, explaining that <br />the veterans' organization is composed of veterans primarily of Hispanic <br />background, and that it has been in existence for over 33 years. He also <br />stated that presently there are two chapters in Santa Ana and that the <br />organization was closely associated with LULAC and Operation SER. Council- <br />member Serrato presented Mr. Alario with a City Seal Tile Plaque in appre- <br />ciation of the activities of the American G.I. Forum of Santa Ana.
