benefit of Orange County. <br /> <br />Councilmember Luxembourger presented a proclamation to Maria Mendoza, <br />Chairperson of Lulac Awards Banquet, commending "La Hispana," the <br />Spanish woman, and thanked Lulac for the services and assistance they <br />have provided to the Spanish population. CA 46 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Sal Rubino, Executive Director, <br />BOYS' CLUB OF SANTA ANA Boys' Club of Santa Ana, pre- <br /> sented an overview of the club, <br /> explaining that the Santa Ana <br />Boys' Club is a non-profit youth-serving agency, affiliated with the <br />national organization, Boys' Club of America. It provides counseling, <br />vocational, educational, and health guidance to boys between the ages <br />of 7-18. Councilmember Serrato thanked Mr. Rubino for the informative <br />presentation and presented him with a City Seal Tile Plaque in appreciation <br />of the Boys' Club's valuable contribution to the City of Santa Ana. <br /> CA 9.3 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />VACATION OF PORTION <br />OF SYCAMORE STREET <br />RES. NO. 82-17 ADOPTED <br /> <br />The Mayor opened the public hear- <br />ing on the proposed vacation of <br />a portion of Sycamore Street <br />between Third and Fourth Streets. <br /> <br />The Senior Transportation Planner 9ave the staff report and recommendations. <br /> <br />There were no written communications. <br /> <br />Don Krotee, 106 W. 4th Street, Suite 309, spoke in favor of the vacation. <br /> <br />The following persons spoke against the vacation: <br /> <br />Zika Djorkovich, 211N. Main <br />Billy Greenberg, 117 N. Broadway <br />E. Walter Scott, 206 W. 4th <br />Joe Gilmaker, 308 W. 4th <br /> <br />There were no other speakers. The Mayor closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:06 p.m., and reconvened at 9:17 p.m., with the same <br />members present. <br /> <br />MOTION made by Griset to adopt Resolution No. 82-17, failed for lack of a <br />second. <br /> <br />Council recessed to Executive Session at 9:30 p.m., and reconvened at 9:35 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Griset, seconded by Luxembourger, to adopt the following <br />resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-17 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA VACATING A PORTION OF SYCAMORE STREET <br />NORTH OF THIRD STREET. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 49 FEBRUARY 1, 1982 <br /> <br /> <br />
