<br />EXEMPTFROMFEESPURUSANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE 9 6103 <br /> <br />KO- 3/14/05 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-030 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA PLACING THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 924 <br />NORTH LOWELL STREET ON THE HISTORICAL <br />REGISTER AND PLACING WITHIN AN ESTABLISHED <br />CATEGORY (APPEAL NO. 2004-02) <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On November 6, 2003, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties and categorization of the Joe Lowell House located at <br />924 North Lowell Street, Santa Ana. The Commission continued the <br />public hearing for ninety (90) days. <br /> <br />B. On February 5, 2004, the continued public hearing was held, and the <br />Historic Resources Commission adopted a resolution approving Historic <br />Resources Commission Application No. 2003-45 and Historic Register <br />Categorization No. 2003-47, by a vote of 6-3 (Giles, Kings, 0' Callaghan <br />opposed). <br /> <br />C. The property owner appealed the Historic Resources Commission action <br />to the City Council. On April 19, 2004, the City Council remanded the item <br />to the Historic Resources Commission to allow the property owner an <br />opportunity to address the Commission. <br /> <br />D. On June 3, 2004, the Historic Resources Commission reconsidered <br />Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2003-45 and Historic <br />Register Categorization No. 2003-47, and by a vote of 5-1 (Schaefer <br />opposed, Gartner, O'Callaghan absent, Lutz abstained) approved said <br />Application and Categorization. <br /> <br />E. The property owner appealed the Historic Resources Commission action <br />to the City Council (Appeal No. 2004-02). On August 2, 2004, the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana continued the public hearing to <br />September 7,2004, by a vote of 5-0 (Christy and Alvarez absent). <br /> <br />1.
