When identifying equipment <br />steps should be taken to insure interoperability with <br />existing equipment and there should be consideration <br />for the shelf life of certain pieces of equipment. <br /> <br />2.3.3.3 Operational equipment <br /> <br />2.3.3.3.1 Personal protection equipment, detection, <br />decontamination, CBRNE search & rescue <br />equipment, interoperable communications equipment, <br />terrorism incident prevention equipment, explosive <br />device mitigation and remediation, WMD/CBRNE <br />technical rescue, physical security enhancement, <br />CBRNE logistical support equipment, medical <br />supplies and limited types of pharmaceuticals. <br /> <br />2.3.3.3.2 Determine total equipment that should be on-hand <br />initially and to meet the Urban Areas (UA) needs for <br />24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours. <br /> <br />2.3.3.3.3 Use the planning factors established as a focus for <br />the number of equipment pieces desired to meet the <br />Urban Areas (UA) response needs. <br /> <br />2.3.3.3.4 Determine current equipment on-hand or on order. <br /> <br />2.3.3.3.5 Make recommendations on how the Urban Area (UA) <br />can maintain an easily accessible database that <br />contains data on the types of equipment, location of <br />equipment, and quantities of equipment that are kept <br />within the Urban Area (UA). <br /> <br />Page 45 of 51 <br />
