MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ~ITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />April 12, 1983 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Mayor Bricken in the <br />City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present <br />were John Acosta, Daniel E. Griset, R. W. Luxembourger, J. Ogden Markel, <br />Patricia A. McGuigan, Alfred C. Serrato, Mayor Gordon Bricken, and <br />Councilmembers-elect P. Lee Johnson and Daniel H. Young. City Manager <br />A. J. Wilson, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of the Council <br />Janice C. Guy were also present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Church of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />given by Richard L. Irving, <br />Minister, First Congregational <br /> <br />CERTIFICATION OF CANVASS <br />OF ELECTION <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy <br />presented the Certificate of <br />Canvass completed April 8, 1983, <br />confirming the election results <br /> <br />R. W. Luxembourger elected to represent Ward 2 by a total <br />of 5,314 votes for the term endi'~g in NoVember, 1986. <br /> <br />P. Lee Johnson elected to represent Ward 4 by a total <br />of 2,969 votes for the term ending in November, 1986. <br /> <br />Daniel H. Young elected to represent Ward 6 by a total <br />of 2,849 votes for the term ending in November, 1986. <br /> <br />Proposition A - Council Election by Ward, was defeated by <br />the following vote: Yes - 2,375; No - 4,484. <br /> <br />Proposition B - Boards & Commissions Terms, passed by <br />the following vote: Yes - 4,160; No - 2,378. <br /> <br />The total number of ballots cast was 7,136, representing 10.7% of the <br />total number of registered voters, 66,505. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-42 <br />ELECTION RESULTS <br />ADOPTED <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Luxembourger, <br />seconded by Serrato, to adopt <br />the following resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-42 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE <br />1983 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 107 APRIL 12, 1983 <br /> <br /> <br />
