At 8:24 p.m., the Council recessed and reconvened at 8:50 p.m., with al! <br />members present except Acosta. <br /> <br />Councilmembers then commented on the need to identify common goals and <br />objectives of the City and School Board, with Councilmember Bricken specifying <br />needs to develop an Education Element as part of the City's general and <br />long-range plans, to solve the overcrowding problems at Santa Aha High School, <br />and to improve access to that facility. Councilmember Griset suggested that <br />both the Council and School Board relinquish roles as "guardians" and take on <br />the role of "guides" to the future. <br /> <br />The City Manager identified three specific tasks for the Task Force <br />including the traffic situation at Santa Ana High School, the Education <br />Element including the need to define the scope of work through the services <br />of a consultant, and the necessity of seeking "1990" solutions to the current <br />problems facing the School District. <br /> <br />At 9:11 p.m., the meeting was adjourned to 12:00 noon, July 5, Room 147, City <br />Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. <br /> <br />~l~ice C.
