The City Manager briefly reviewed the Transportation Services budget, and <br />the Director of Transportation responded to Councilm~mbers' specific <br />questions. Counci~er Acosta suggested that the Director of <br />Transportation investigate additional alternatives to reduce the City's <br />expenditures for street sweeping brushes. The Director of Transportation <br />commented that street lights and roadway maintenance costs constituted a <br />major portion of his budget, and added he was attempting to solicit <br />additional project dollars and possibly to install assessment districts to <br />defray expenditures by the department. <br /> <br />The City Manager briefly reviewed the Bowers Museum and Library budgets. <br />He then very quickly sun]~arized the projects anticipated for <br />implementation in the Capital I~provement Program for 1983-84, and <br />responded to Councilmembers' questions. <br /> <br />At 3:15 p.m., the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />~le~eo~ ' t~eYcouncil <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINL~ES 227 JULY 18, 1983 <br /> <br /> <br />
