The Councilmember$ and Supervisor Stanton discussed the Orange County <br />Airport, posed several interesting possibilities relative to the law suits <br />and use of the John Wayne Airport, but did not formulate any particular <br />action plan. <br /> <br />Supervisor Stanton indicated that he would be happy to cooperate with the <br />City in regard to its efforts to upgrade Santa Ana's housing stock. The <br />City Manager indicated he would be meeting with those who had spoken <br />against the City's housing programs in the Los Angeles Times article on <br />Sunday. <br /> <br />Supervisor Stanton indicated that the First District was getting its fair <br />share of arterial highway financing funds. <br /> <br />The City Manager indicated his staff was analyzing the City's current <br />emergency medical system and requested that a staff person from Supervisor <br />Stanton's office be assigned to this area. Supervisor Stanton explained <br />that Susanne Victor would have first responsibility with Fausto Reyes as <br />backup. <br /> <br />In response to Mayor Luxembourger's comments about parking behind the <br />jail, Dan Miller explained the County had modified its position from <br />encouraging parking along the perimeters of the Civic Center area to <br />encouraging development of parking structures closer to the County <br />facilities at the eastern boundary of the Civic Center area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson queried Supervisor Stanton as to whether the County <br />might be interested in assisting with an expansion of the Bowers Museum. <br />Supervisor Stanton said he would be happy to listen to any proposals. <br /> <br />At 5:59 p.m. the Council recessed to dinner in Room 831, City Hall, 20 <br />Civic Center Plaza. <br /> <br />RECONVENE - 7:30 P.M. - City Councilmembers Acosta, Bricken, Griset, <br /> Johnson, Luxembourger, McGuigan, Young. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />INVOCATION - Bobby Gudehus, Eagle~s Nest Church <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - Proclamation presented by Councilmember Patricia A. <br /> McGuigan to Tania Annenkoff, President, Orange Empire <br /> Chapter, of Professional Secretaries International <br /> proclaiming April 22-23, 1984, as "PROFESSIONAL <br /> SECRETARIES WEEK." <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATION - Certificates of Recognition presented by Council- <br /> member P.
