MOTION: <br /> <br />Correct the Minutes of March 20, 1984 with regard to <br />the Walen case to show $14,647.50 as the settlement amount <br />of workmen's compensation. <br /> <br />MOTION: Johnson SECOND: McGuigan <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta~ Bricken, Griset, Johnson, <br /> Luxembourger, McGutgan, Young <br />None <br />None FILE 410.10 <br /> <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br />At 10:56 p.m., Council recessed to the Housing Authority and reconvened at <br />10:57 p.m., with all members present. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />The City Manager indicated that a report would be forthcoming regarding <br />Richard Maxey's complaint regarding the Santa Ana Police Department. <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that he would like to set up a breakfast meeting <br />with the Council and a representative from City Venture Corporation on <br />Friday, April 6, at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Young expressed concern about a four-story residential <br />structure being erected at 14th and Bush Street which appears to be <br />abandoned. He thought that the structure was unsafe and suggested that <br />the City buy it for use as senior citizen housing. The matter was <br />referred to staff for report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Young also requested that the City Manager review the <br />Council Referral list, referring to some of the older items. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bricken suggested another attempt be made to annex a parcel <br />of land north of 17th on the west side of Newport Freeway, recommending <br />that the City get the support of the Orange County Supervisor before <br />proceeding. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson expressed interest in the Senior Citizens' building <br />on the southeast corner of Bristol and Civic Center Drive, noting he had <br />learned that the developer had dropped the project. The matter was <br />referred to staff to verify. <br /> <br />Councilmember Griset suggested that the City should begin to get alternate <br />suggestions on the QT shuttle, such as vehicle types to be utilized, <br />better routing, and theme development. He further reported he had asked <br />staff to prepare a concept paper on a conference idea for a National Urban <br />Priorities Conference to be hosted by the City as the first major <br />post-election workshop (at approximately the time of the Ambassadors' <br />Ball.) <br /> <br />The City Manager pointed out that the Transit District would like for the <br />Council to consider free fares for 30 days to promote the QT shuttle. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />125 APRIL 2, 1984 <br /> <br /> <br />
