We have the unique experience and capabilities
that are necessary to accomplish on-call services. The projects listed below are a sampling of the
considerable experience possessed by URS, and more importantly highlight involvement by staff proposed
for utilization on this contract.
URS is currently under contract with the City of
wMinnie/Standard Street Improvements Santa Ana to prepare schematic, preliminary and
Santa Ana, CA final design documents for street, landscaping and
Project Manager: Jeff Chapman, PE Parkincg lot rehabilitation in the newly appointed
Project Engineer: Patti Tiberi, IRE.,.. L ' "Cornerstone Villa -e" community. The project
scope includes reconfiguration of Minnie Street to
one-way, landscaping enhancement, pavement overlay and reconstruction, parking lot renovation, and
relocation of existing overhead electrical system. Special aesthetics considerations were also an important
_ part of this improvement project which include addition of many landscape islands, entry pergola,
community signage monument, new street lights and enhanced paving throughout the project.
URS has recently completed the schematic and preliminary design for the project and is now completing the
final construction documents for the street, parking lot and landscaping improvements. Construction is
expected to begin in October 2001, after the completion of the courtyard and building fa4ade improvements
which are being undertaken. It has already become evident that the project will be a tremendous success for
the City and may provide a prototype for future neighborhood enhancement projects throughout the City.
Both the schematic and design phases of the project have involved extensive local resident, property owner
and City agency collaboration. Mr. Chapman has demonstrated ability to explore and resolve issues that
have arisen on the project, particularly with respect to building consensus among the variety of stakeholders
involved in the project by identifying compromises that have allowed the project to ccmonue movEnz_
The Cit -cif Santa Atm :_using.kX__1`i tub
anta,Ana -Land Use Planning and Traffic selected a- teAm -€.
