CODE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM <br /> <br />The Director of Housing briefly reviewed the contents of a memo from the <br />City Manager, dated April 9, 1984, entitled "Code Enforcement and <br />Relocation Assistance." Councilmembers indicated serious concerns with <br />the proposed program. The City Manager indicated it was not necessary to <br />make a decision on this program this evening since the item would come to <br />the Council as an agenda item at a future date. <br /> <br />COORS PARTICIPATION IN CITY EVENTS <br />The City Manager reviewed the information in a memo prepared by the <br />Community Information Officer, dated April 9, 1984, entitled "Coors <br />Distributorship," and expressed his opinion against this firm continuing <br />to participate in any future City events. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Authorize the Mayor to write a letter to William K. <br />Coors, Chairman of the Board of the Coors Corporation, <br />asking Coors to withdraw from participating in any City <br />event, pending an explanation of Mr. Coors' recent <br />discriminatory remarks about minorities. <br /> <br />MOTION: Acosta SECOND: Griset <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br />None <br />Bricken FILE 120.15 <br /> <br />The City Manager advised the Counc±lmembers that he would be providing to <br />them shortly a draft of a plan to create a new board for the Bowers Museum <br />and to expand the facility through a million dollar construction program. <br /> <br />The Council recessed to Executive Session at 7:40 p.m., at which time <br />Councilmember Griset left the meeting.
