<br />Contracts Renewal for Furniture <br />(Spec. 04-083) <br />June 20, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Additionally, the Santa Ana Police Department and Jail; the Fire <br />Department; and other City departments require various replacement <br />furniture items to maintain a high-quality work environment for staff. <br />Also, Parks, Recreation & Community Services requires various furniture <br />i terns to furnish the Santiago Creek wildlife & Watershed Center, as <br />well as, replacement furniture items for the El Salvador and Jerome <br />Recreation Centers. <br /> <br />U. S. Communi ties recently awarded contracts for furniture with <br />manufacturers such as Haworth, Herman Miller, Inc., School Specialty, <br />Steelcase (Tangram Interiors), and Virco. The County of Orange has a <br />contract with McMahan Desk, a dealer that represents various <br />manufacturers such as: Ergonomic Comfort Design (ECD), McDowell-Craig, <br />Salman, Howe, Hon, and HumanScale. <br /> <br />The City Council adopted Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizing <br />purchase against contracts with other government agencies <br />competi ti ve bid process.
