The grant provides total reimbursement to local <br />agencies for equipment purchases approved and authorized by the Office <br />of Disaster Preparedness. <br /> <br />The Police Department's Crime Analysis section currently utilizes <br />geographic information system software that will be upgraded, and used <br />in a variety of homeland security applications. The software will be <br />used to map critical infrastructure and key assets; to produce models <br />for chemical or biological agent releases; and to develop and support <br />maps used by notification systems designed to alert the public in the <br />event of a terrorist incident or weapons of mass destruction event. <br />The software will also be used in the Emergency Operations Center to <br />display maps that show the location of incidents and the location of <br />emergency equipment responding or deployed at incidents. <br /> <br />221-1 <br /> <br />CS 383 <br />
