MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />June 4, 1984 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:13 p.m. by Mayor R. W. <br />Luxembourger in Room 147, Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. <br />Councilmembers present were John Acosta, Gordon Bricken, P. Lee <br />Johnson, Patricia A. McGuigan and Mayor Luxembourger. Also present <br />were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney ~dward J. Cooper, <br />Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy, members of the City's Executive <br />Manag~nent team, the public, and the press. Councilmembers Dan Young <br />and Daniel E. Griset joined the meeting at 1:24 p.m. and 1:39 p.m. <br />respectively. <br /> <br />The Council immediately adjourned to the Chambers for a slide show <br />presentation of a new marketing program for the City prepared by the <br />Santa Ana Economic Development Corporation. <br /> <br />Following the slide presentation, MaureenMcAvay of the Carley Cor- <br />poration introduced staff members of the firm who would be working on <br />the develo~x~ent proposal for the A2 site south of the Transit Terminal <br />on Ross Street. <br /> <br />At 1:25 p.m. the Council reconvened in Room 147, with all members <br />present except Councilmember Griset. <br /> <br />ROSE PARADE UPDATE <br /> <br />The Community Information Officer briefly reviewed the progress of the <br />Rose Parade Float C(mmittee to date, and reported the Committee had <br />recommended the firm of C. E. Bent and Sons as the contractor for <br />float construction. She showed the Council several possible float <br />designs but indicated the design process was still in the formative <br />stage. Councilmember Bricken noted that the Cor~nittee planned to <br />select a design that would show well on television and permit "easy" <br />use of flowers.
