MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA June 4, 1984 The meeting was called to order at 1:13 p.m. by Mayor R. W. Luxembourger in Room 147, Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were John Acosta, Gordon Bricken, P. Lee Johnson, Patricia A. McGuigan and Mayor Luxembourger. Also present were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney ~dward J. Cooper, Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy, members of the City's Executive Manag~nent team, the public, and the press. Councilmembers Dan Young and Daniel E. Griset joined the meeting at 1:24 p.m. and 1:39 p.m. respectively. The Council immediately adjourned to the Chambers for a slide show presentation of a new marketing program for the City prepared by the Santa Ana Economic Development Corporation. Following the slide presentation, MaureenMcAvay of the Carley Cor- poration introduced staff members of the firm who would be working on the develo~x~ent proposal for the A2 site south of the Transit Terminal on Ross Street. At 1:25 p.m. the Council reconvened in Room 147, with all members present except Councilmember Griset. ROSE PARADE UPDATE The Community Information Officer briefly reviewed the progress of the Rose Parade Float C(mmittee to date, and reported the Committee had recommended the firm of C. E. Bent and Sons as the contractor for float construction. She showed the Council several possible float designs but indicated the design process was still in the formative stage. Councilmember Bricken noted that the Cor~nittee planned to select a design that would show well on television and permit "easy" use of flowers. The Community Information Officer responded to Councilmembers' questions. CITY COUNCIL MINU~S 196 JUNE 4, 1984
