SECTION 01550 — SITE ACCESS AND STORAGE <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 CONTRACTOR'S WORK AND STORAGE AREA <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall make its own arrangements for any necessary off -site <br />storage or shop areas necessary for the proper execution of the WORK. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall construct and use a separate storage area for hazardous <br />materials used in constructing the WORK. <br />For the purpose of this paragraph, hazardous materials to be stored in the <br />separate area are all products labeled with any of the following terms: Warning, <br />Caution, Poisonous, Toxic, flammable, Corrosive, Reactive, or Explosive. In <br />addition, whether or not so labeled, the following materials shall be stored in the <br />separate area: diesel fuel, gasoline, new and used motor oil, hydraulic fluid, <br />cement, paints and paint thinners, two-part epoxy coatings, sealants, asphaltic <br />products, glues, solvents, wood preservatives, sand blast materials, and spill <br />absorbent. <br />2. The CONTRACTOR shall develop and submit to the ENGINEER a plan for <br />storing and disposing of the materials above. <br />3. The CONTRACTOR shall obtain and submit to the ENGINEER a single EPA <br />number for wastes generated at the site. <br />4. The separate storage area shall meet all the requirements of all authorities <br />having jurisdiction over the storage of hazardous materials.
