continuous, competent supervision. The completed installation shall display competent <br />work, reflecting adherence to prevailing industrial standards and methods. <br />E. Protection of Equipment and Materials: The CONTRACTOR shall provide adequate <br />means for and shall fully protect all finished parts of the materials and equipment <br />against damage from any cause during the progress of the work and until acceptable by <br />the ENGINEER. <br />F. All materials and equipment, both in storage and during construction, shall be covered in <br />such a manner that no finished surfaces will be damaged, marred, or splattered with <br />water, foam, plaster, or paint. All moving parts shall be kept clean and dry. <br />G. The CONTRACTOR shall replace or have refinished by the manufacturer, all damaged <br />materials or equipment, including faceplates of panels and switchboard sections, at no <br />expense to the CITY. <br />H. Tests: The CONTRACTOR shall make all tests required by the ENGINEER or other <br />authorities having jurisdictions. All such tests shall be performed in the presence of the <br />ENGINEER. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish all necessary testing equipment and <br />pay all costs of tests, including all replacement parts and labor necessary due to <br />damage resulting from damaged equipment or from test and correction of faulty <br />installation. The following testing shall be accomplished: <br />Testing for the ground resistance value specified under "Grounding," herein. <br />2. Insulation resistance tests as specified under "Wire and Cable," herein. <br />3. Operational testing of all equipment furnished and/or connected in other Sections <br />of Division 16, Electrical, including furnishing of support labor for testing. <br />Standard test reports for mass-produced equipment shall be submitted along with the <br />submittal for such equipment. Test reports on testing specifically required for individual <br />pieces of equipment shall be submitted to the ENGINEER for review prior to final <br />acceptance of the project. <br />J. Any test failure shall be corrected in accordance with the industry practices and in a <br />manner satisfactory to the ENGINEER. <br />1.6 AREA DESIGNATIONS <br />A. General: For purposes of delineating electrical enclosure and electrical installation <br />requirements of this project, certain areas have been classified in the Contract <br />Documents as defined below. Electrical installations within these areas shall conform to <br />the referenced code requirements for the area involved. <br />B. General Purpose Indoor Locations: Electrical work installed in areas which are not <br />otherwise specifically classified shall be "General Purpose."
