MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />October 15, 1984 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:17 p.m. by Mayor R. W. <br />Lux~mbourger, in Room 147, City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center <br />Plaza. Councilmembers present were John Acosta, P. Lee Johnson, <br />Patricia A. McGuigan and Mayor Luxembourger. Also present were City <br />Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney ~dward J. Cooper and Clerk of <br />the Council Janice C. Guy, as well as rmmnbers of the City's manag~nent <br />staff, the public and the press. Councilmembers Daniel E. Griset and <br />Dan Young joined the meeting at 1:25 p.m. and 1:40 p.m., respectively. <br />Councilmember Gordon Bricken was absent. <br /> <br />WALK-ON ITEM <br /> <br />Orange County League Resolutions Cc~mittee <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Endorse the candidacy of Councilmember McGuigan for a <br />position on the Resolutions Cor~nittee of the Orange <br />County League of Cities and authorize the Mayor to <br />cora~unicate that support to the President of the <br />Orange County League. <br /> <br />MOTION: Johnson SECOND: Acosta <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Johnson, Luxembourger, McGuigan <br />None <br />Bricken, Griset, Young FILE 150.10 <br /> <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />Southern California Water Issue <br /> <br />John Garthe, Santa Ana's representative to the Metropolitan Water <br />District introduced Tcm Lovil, Metropolitan Water District, who <br />addressed Council regarding the status of water issues in California. <br />Mr. Lovil discussed the loss of Colorado water in 1985, the State <br />Water Project, the probability that water rates would increase, <br />hydrogeneration, Proposition 36 impacts, and the use of chloranines <br />by MWD.
